Roger WORROD (Wuzzy) > Darek the steward Dariusz PATOCKI.JPG. It's his job to make sure that I am safe and sound before, during and after lifeboat drill. He hoovers and cleans my chambers, keeps my bar well stocked and we communicate well by gesture and the odd words of English, French and German. He also serves us in the officers' mess and his service (it's the first time he's worked as a steward) is fine, his friendship just right (never an easy thing to establish between paying guest and people offering 'service').

The cook, who keeps us all (too) well fed, has been preparing this suckling pig for 3 days, after having slowly defrosted it to bring it up to ambient temperature. The marinade made an excellent sauce, and the pig was the final main course, after we had finished our steaks, chops and sausages. The salad was exceptional, being a 50-50 mix of conventional salad and fruit salad, with a lemon and yoghourt dressing.
